About you
To thrive in this role and embody our values, you’ll need:
- Problem-Solving Skills: Chartered status with strong technical expertise, and at least 5 years of financial planning experience, enabling you to find effective solutions to complex financial scenarios.
- Pioneering Spirit: Holistic planning expertise, with an ability to see the ‘big picture’ and help clients achieve life goals. Familiarity with approaches like the Kinder Institute life planning method is a plus.
- Growth Mindset: Comfort in advising across a wide range of financial planning areas, including: pension lifetime allowance, pension annual allowances, IHT including NRB and RNRB, business taxation reliefs, income tax and CGT allowances, offshore bonds, trusts, family investment companies and life insurances. With a commitment to continual learning and improving your expertise.
- Care and Attention to Detail: A client-focused approach, great communication, and an ability to create financial plans that align with clients’ aspirations.
Technical Skills:
- Pension transfer qualifications, experience with defined benefit pension advice, and advanced understanding of areas such as IHT planning, tax reliefs, offshore bonds, and trusts.
- Strong capability with systems like cash flow forecasting (ideally Voyant) and financial planning tools.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively advise clients, presenting cashflow forecasts, financial plans, and suitability reports.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering ongoing advice and nurturing strong relationships.
- Meet with prospective clients to identify their needs and outline how Balance can help.
- Provide technical support to other team members.
- Build and maintain professional connections in line with our caring ethos.
