Fixed fees for financial planning

Fixed Fees for Financial Planning

How do fixed fees for financial planning work? Unlike many financial advisers, we do not charge a percentage of your wealth. We don’t believe it’s fair to charge someone ten times more for £1,000,000 invested than someone who’s invested £100,000 for a very similar service. As financial planners, we’re very transparent about how we operate and what we charge. We offer fixed, all-inclusive fees instead. So, let’s look at how this works…

Everyone is different

As everyone is different, we tailor our services to your specific situation. Whether you have complex circumstances or only need light support, we charge according to your needs. Furthermore, we work holistically, which means we look at every aspect of your financial situation. From tax planning to contingency planning and lifetime wealth forecasting to managing your investments, whatever your needs, we will help you improve your financial situation.

Our fees reflect our team’s expertise, the time required to create a bespoke financial plan, and the support needed to help you achieve it. You pay for exactly what you need. A recent fee survey conducted by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) “found that many clients were unaware of how much they were paying.” We believe in transparency.

You are an individual

Our fixed fees always reflect our client’s individual situations. But, like many things in life, no size fits all. So, by tailoring our support and fees to match your specific needs, you can enjoy a level of service that relates wholly to your own personal circumstances. Think of us as your “money organisers.” Our aim is to make your money work harder and give you clarity on the costs that will help you achieve your desired lifestyle using cash flow modelling tools.

We’ll ask you what you want from your life, both now and in the future. And talk through any plans you have for yourself and your children, along with your retirement goals. We’ll factor in any potential big life events that might affect your plans. Our focus is on helping you to enjoy financial security and either a comfortable or luxurious lifestyle. For more information on our financial planning process, see our article What we do and how we charge.

Investment, not a cost

The value our clients receive from our services ensures our charges are always an investment and not a cost. Our aim is to help you achieve your goals and aspirations. When it comes to your investment portfolio, fixed fees ensure your costs do not rise as your investments increase. Furthermore, the level of advice we provide is not influenced by your fees, which means you’ll always benefit from our expertise, regardless of how much you pay us.

Typically, our initial fees range from £4,000 – £8,000, but we may charge lower or higher depending on your situation. If you want to benefit from our ongoing service, we charge a monthly fixed fee, usually between £333 – £666 per month. Some clients pay as little as £125 per month, yet clients with more complex situations pay up to £833 per month. So, it really is up to you to choose your preferred service level.

Before you commit to any fee, we will ask you to attend a free discovery meeting. This allows us to gain a clearer picture of your financial situation. We will also discuss your aims and aspirations, including any challenges or obstacles you might face. Then, we can produce a tailored proposal that details the necessary planning to get you to where you want to be.
